Day #15 MISO SOUP & EGGS
09/15/09
Rebecca:
Ernest: 205.5 lbs / 93.21 kgs
I learned how to make miso soup today. Whoohoo! I have always liked this kind of soup and now I know how to make it thanks to my companion! Some people have this soup for breakfast. I like it but that is hard for me to imagine. Mainly because breakfast is my favorite meal and I am definitely an egg eating human being. I love eggs! I like them anyway they are cooked or prepared although I must say I have only eaten a raw egg one time in my life and I can not for the life of me remember why I did it. All I remember is that it was not a pleasant experience and I will never do it again.

NEOLOGISM
A neologism is, according to Webster: a new word, usage or expression and once again, The Washington Post has published the winning submissions to its yearly neologism contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternative meanings for common words.
The winners are:

2. Flabbergasted (adj.), appalled over how much weight you have gained.
3. Abdicate (v.), to give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.
4. Esplanade (v.), to attempt an explanation while drunk.
5. Willy-nilly (adj.), impotent.
6. Negligent (adj.), describes a condition in which you absentmindedly answer the door in your nightgown.
7. Lymph (v.), to walk with a lisp.
8. Gargoyle (n), olive-flavored mouthwash.
9. Flatulence (n.) emergency vehicle that picks you up after you are run over by a steamroller.
10. Balderdash (n.), a rapidly receding hairline.
11. Circumvent (n.), an opening in the front of boxer shorts worn by Jewish men.
12. Rectitude (n.), the formal, dignified bearing adopted by proctologists.
13. Pokemon (n), a Rastafarian proctologist.
14. Oyster (n.), a person who sprinkles his conversation with Yiddishisms.
15. Frisbeetarianism (n), (back by popular demand): The belief that, when you die, your soul flies up onto the roof and gets stuck there.
The Washington Post's Style Invitational also asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are this year's winners:
1. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future. [Gee, I wonder where I've seen this before?]
2. Foreploy (v): Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of sexual favors.
3. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.

Day #14 BITTER BITTER BITTER !
09/14/09
Rebecca:
Ernest: 205.5 lbs / 93.21 kgs
A new vegetable was added to the menu last evening. Daikon raddish ... I found out that there are things that I really don't like to eat. I ate this bitter tasting vegetable because it was on my plate ... but I did not like it. I hope this vegetable falls off the menu and never finds it's way back.

Day #13 ARE YOU A VEGAN?
09/13/09
Rebecca:
Ernest: 206 lbs / 93.44 kgs
Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind. The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are ethical commitment or moral conviction concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns. Of particular concern to many vegans are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources for animal farming.
The answer for me is no!

Day #12 POOF! ... LIKE FLASH PAPER
09/12/09
Rebecca:
Ernest: 207.5 lbs / 94.12 kgs
I started this journey over ten days ago and thought by now I surely would have feelings of regret, some second thoughts or cravings of some kind for junk food or other kinds of food that I have turned away from for now and maybe forever. Nothing ... all I feel is determination. I have a goal of 170 lbs and I am bound and determined (there's that word again) to do whatever I have to do to reach that goal. 170 lbs is only 50 lbs less than what I weighed on 09/01/09 and I think it is a reasonable one to set. After that, I can set a new goal ... maybe my ideal weight of 160 lbs ... or 50 pushups ... whichever comes first ... but I digress. Maybe the lack of feelings other than this over-powering feeling of determination has something to do with it. I am tired of being an overweight and unhealthy person and have finally decided to do something about it once and for all. I know that only I can make a difference. I know in my mind that ... "If it is going to be ... it is up to me". Anyway, "Life is a bitch ... then you die." I have always liked those two quotes and I laughed inside when I thought about the days after my demise when I am finally cremated ... the way I have chosen for my family to deal with my mortal remains. When I am placed in the furnace by some stranger for cremation and the switch is thrown, I think my body is going to burn like piece of flash paper... POOF! ... After that, if my ashes are disposed of hither an yon in the manner that I have asked, I will litterly be blowing in the wind and will only be a memory for those that wish to remember. MTLHMOMS!
