Day#3: One's a Meal

09/03/09
Rebecca: 110 lbs / 49.90 kgs
When I brushed my teeth and flossed today, my gums didn't bleed.  Hmmmm ... Can this be the beginning of the healing process of macrobiotics ... surely not so soon.
Ernest: 216.5 lbs / 98.41 kgs
I have been reading up on macrobiotics and I really like the philosophy:

Followers of the macrobiotic approach believe that food and food quality powerfully affect health, well-being, and happiness, and that a macrobiotic diet has more beneficial effects than others. The macrobiotic approach suggests choosing food that is less processed. The goal of macrobiotics is to become sensitive to the actual effects of foods on health and well-being, rather than to follow dietary rules and regulations.

The second meal of the day was eaten rather late ... 12:00 mignight to be exact. She got home from her job around 11:00 PM and it takes about an hour to prepare everything that is consumed in one meal. She says the trick is to cook enough rice & beans for two days so that all you have to prepare after that is the boiled vegetable. I replied that I need to learn how to prepare the miso soup the way she prepares it (perfect in every way). I can boil vegetables no problem and since the plan is to have two days of rice & beans already prepared, I could have everything ready when she gets home. Anyway, we ate and watched Ninja Warriors until about 2:00 AM and then went to bed. Ninja Warrior or Sasuki is a G4tv show from Japan on cable that has competitors from all over the world competing to see who can complete a physically challenging four stage obstacle course in a certain amount of time. Staying up until the wee hours of the morning has become routine for me over the last six months or so. I don't know why, and don't care but some days, I don't go to bed until 3 or 4 in the morning only to get up at 7:00 AM for a round of conference calls starting at 8:00 AM. I did not sleep at all a couple of days before I started my MAC journey because I was working on something and just wanted to finish. I had no ill effects other than just being really really tired and really really ready to go to bed the next night.
